We are in the middle of a winter storm and I am home enjoying our second snow day. It is a special treat to have an unexpected gift of time. This morning I am catching up on reading and was reminded of an excellent resource for teachers and parents, readingrockets.org. This website is an all inclusive resource for everything a parent or educator would want to know about teaching a child to read. Here are two of my favorite pages. One highlights the important elements of literacy instruction and the other is a guide in selecting great books for your child. They are easy to read and provide essential knowledge for parents of young children. The parent resources on this site are excellent and I know you will love them.
